A few things I forgot......

This week we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  Students have been invited to participate in a poster contest.  Rules and information went home Thursday of last week.  Students will be awarded 3 bonus points in Science if they turn in a poster.  Entry forms must be attached to poster and can be found in my classroom.


Friday students may wear their fair t-shirt, fun run t-shirt or orange spirit shirt with uniform bottoms.

October 22-26, 2012

Science-
      This week we will review for the test Monday, DARE Tuesday, Cell Packet test Wednesday, plan with group for edible cell project on Thursday, and get new packet on Friday.  The test is on Wednesday.  STUDY EVERY NIGHT.  Format- 10 T/F, 10 mult. choice, 1 short answer and listing.

Religion-
     This week we will continue work on our Rosary packet.  For the Nov. 1st All School Mass, Ms. Boudreaux has asked that each HR have someone dress as a Saint for the Litany of the Saints.  Our HR was assigned Matthew.  If you have a costume your child can wear or are willing to scrounge one up, please let me know.  I am looking for a St. Matthew!

Just kidding......

When I went to add test date change to test calendar I saw that the 24th is a no homework night, therefore no tests on the 25th.  We will keep it on the 24th, as originally planned!

October 15-19, 2012

Science-  This week we will finish up our Cell packet.  The quiz on labeling the parts of the plant and animal cell is Oct. 18th and the test on the rest of the information is Oct. 24th.  We will have DARE on Tuesday and STPs will go home on Tuesday, as well.

Religion-This week we will start work on the Rosary packet.  We will celebrate Reconciliation on Thursday.

Monday- Report cards go home.
Wednesday- Field trip.....don't forget your lunch if you said you were bringing and orange spirit shirts may be worn in place of the uniform shirt.
Thursday- Dismiss at 12-Conferences
Friday- No School-Conferences

October 8-12, 2012

Science- This week we will continue working in the cell packet.  Test on the 23 vocab. words will be given on Thursday.  Format is fill in the blanks with a word bank.  Test on the parts of the cell will be given next Thursday, the 18th.  Students have drawn cells in their packet and also have a worksheet from which they can study. This test will be labeling. No DARE this week.  STPs will go home on Tuesday.

Religion- This week we will finish the ch. 5 packet and complete the open book quiz. 

F.Y.I.

Monday is the end of the 1st 9 weeks.
Tuesday begins the 2nd 9 weeks.
Wednesday students may wear orange tshirs, bows and socks to celebrate Unity day.
Friday- No school for students.

New Animal Creations

The students did a great job creating new animals using characteristics from the 5 classes of vertebrates.  A few examples are shown below.
