Week of August 29, 2011

Science-
This week we will continue work on our Carl Linnaeus flow maps. On Tuesday we will begin the DARE program. Students will come home with a letter about the program that needs to be signed by a parent. Please be looking for this. Wednesday is our vocabulary quiz. Students should be studying their notecards each night.

Religion-
This week we will work on Chapter 2, an overview of Sacraments. In the coming weeks we will study each Sacrament in more details.

Science- The first test will be sent home on Tuesday to be signed. If you have any questions, please email me or send a note in a sealed envelope. Once you have looked over the test, the World Geography packet may be recycled.

Classification packets were given out on Monday. This is a large packet and will be broken down into 4 smaller tests. Information about these will be given as they get closer.

This week we will work with Classification vocabulary words and with Carl Linnaeus and his biography.

Religion- This week we will begin working on chapter one in our beautiful new Religion book.

August 15-19, 2011

Welcome to 5th grade. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you at Open House on Sunday. My goal is to update this site on Sunday or Monday afternoon each week. Please stop by often for an overview of the coming week.

Science- This week we will continue our review of World Geography. The test on this packet will be given on Friday, August 19. Your child should have study information on the back of the front cover of their packet by Monday night. There are several pages in the packet being used to help review topics and will not be included on the test. If you have any questions, please send me an email.

Religion- This week we will discuss the Assumption, how to help build God's kingdom and write a few prayers. We will also begin our personal prayer journals. This will be done once a week.

School pictures are Wednesday. If you would like to order and have not sent your money, please send it by Wednesday morning.
