Field Trip

Our trip to Houmas House is tomorrow, March 29. Below are several reminders. *Pack a lunch unless your child ordered one from the cafeteria. *School uniform is to be worn. *No cameras, ipods, phones, etc. allowed. *Chaperones should park in the front lot on Stuart if meeting at school to carpool. *Chaperones meeting us at Houmas House should arrive between 9:30-9:45. *Chaperones pay $10 fee upon arrival. *Chaperones should bring a lunch if planning to picnic with us.

Science- The test on Seed Plants is this Thursday. All students have been given many hints. Section 5 in the packet can be ignored when studying. However, please do not ignore page 14! English- This week we will begin the unit on Adverbs. We will contiue working on the Sayings and Phrases project. Students will learn one to two new sayings each day. Homework each night is to finish any booklet pages not finished in class. Please ask your child about their progress. There will be 31 sayings in all and it will be too much to handle if they do not stay on top of the homework. Spiral #19 is due Friday.

March 21-25, 2011

Science- This week we will continue to work through the chapter 5 Seed Plants packet. The test on the packet will be given on Thursday, March 31. We are also germinating Lima Bean seeds in class. Hopefully they will be ready to plant by the end of the week.

Homework each night is to study for the test.

English- This week we will finish the Pronouns chapter. Test on this chapter is this Friday. Students will also be given a new saying each day to add to their Sayings and Phrases Project. Homework each night is to finish the saying from that day.

Spiral #18 is due Friday.

Field trip permission slips and money are due by TOMORROW- March 22.

March 14-18, 2011

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a nice Mardi Gras break.

Science- The next chapter will be Ch. 5 Seed Plants. We will begin our work on this packet on Tuesday. Homework each night is to study what has been checked in the packet so far. STPs will go home Tuesday and are due by Thursday.

English- This week we will start the Pronoun chapter in the text book. The test on this is scheduled for Friday, March 25. We will also continue work on the Sayings and Phrases project. Students will be given their folders on Monday. Each day we will work on one saying/phrase. Homework each night is to finish the page for that day.

Thursday is St. Patrick's Day accessory day.

Friday is an all school mass. Please remember mass uniform and to support the Food Bank, if possible.

Field trip permission slips will go home on Tuesday. Please send the completed form and money back to school as soon as possible. All forms/money will be due NO LATER than Tuesday, March 22nd.
