A letter will go home Monday to all parents asking for help. We need at least 10 parent volunteers to be small group leaders for the 5th grade retreat. The retreat will be held at school on Tuesday, October 20. Volunteers do not need the Child Protection Certification, as a teacher will always be in the room with you. All supplies, activities, and discussion materials will be provided for you. If you are able to help, please look for the form on Monday and return to me no later than Thursday, October 1. Thank you!

A big THANK YOU goes out to occupational therapist Mr. Michael Cook (Jordan's dad) who came to speak with the 5th graders about the effects of smoking on the circulatory system. We are so thankful to him for taking the time to share his knowledge and his pictures with us. His real-life pictures really brought to life the information he discussed about the problems that can arise from smoking. The children also loved his list of Fun Facts that he shared with us.

Science Lab Fun!

The Science classes went to the Lab today to conduct an experiment. What do you think will happen to a Gummy Bear if it is left in water overnight? Students made a hypothesis, carefully measured their bears, and then dropped them into their overnight bath. Tomorrow we will return to measure and calculate again and find out what does happen to a Gummy Bear who is left in water over night!
