Science Test

The test on Ch. 4-Intro. to Plants will be given on either Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Once I see how far we get by Friday, I will decide on a date. Each night students should study all material that has already been checked in class. A test format/study hints sheet will go home on Thursday. Please encourage your child to start studying NOW!!

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your break as much as I did!

Science- This week we will work in our new packet, Ch. 4 Introduction to Plants. I have not assigned a test date yet. I will post it when we get a little further into the packet.

Religion- This week we will do a general review in preparation for the ACRE test, take the ACRE test and talk about Lent. Rice Bowls were sent home today (Monday). These will be due by April 11.

I am also sending home a Religion progress report today (Monday) for you to review and sign. All grades were not entered at the time of school progress reports and I would like all parents to have a clear idea of the Religion grade. Please remember that although grades are S+,S,N, and U, I assign work and give work number grades that the computer converts to the corresponding letter. Please let me know if you have any questions about how this works.

So sorry for the late post. I was out Monday and just had so much fun celebrating my birthday and Valentine's Day yesterday that I never got around to updating.

First, I would like to thank all of my wonderful students and their parents for making my birthday such a special day. I am so blessed to spend my days with such wonderful people!

In Science this week we finished our Endocrine System unit with a test on Tuesday. Students will see grades before Mardi Gras break, but they will not go home until after. Thursday and Friday we will start our new packet, Introduction to Plants.

In Religion we have discussed St. Valentine and will talk about Ash Wednesday and begin discussion on Lent.

February 6-10,2012

Science- This week students will work with classmates to create presentations on disorders dealing with endocrine glands. They will have three full class periods to work on this before presenting to the class. The MAJORITY of the work should be done at school. Test on the endocrine system packet is Tuesday, February 14.

Religion-This week we will complete our study of the parts of the mass in chapter 11 "We are Sent to Love and Serve.


Homeroom FYI-
Class pictures Tuesday. Any students attending robotics workshop must be picked up and brought back to school by 9:30 for the picture. As soon as the picture is done, they may return to the workshop.

Friday we will have our class King Cake party. A big THANK YOU to Sarah Livingston, Linsey Sutton and Mary Christian for providing the cakes for the class. =)

Tuesday, Feb. 14 we will exchange Valentine cards. Please see last week's post for details or email me if you have any questions.
