April 26-30, 2010

English- This week students will write the rough draft of their research paper. I will proofread all rough drafts before the final draft is written. Students will be given a majority of the class to work on the assigned paragraphs, however, if they do not finish in class it will be assigned for homework. If your child has to work on this at home, PLEASE fight the urge to change their work. Any help/guidance you give them is wonderful, but let it be their words....not yours. Final drafts will be due at the beginning of class on Wednesday, May 5. They may be typed or NEATLY handwritten. If you have any questions as we work through this process, please let me know.

Science- This week we will continue our voyage with the crew of the Mimi. Students are being graded on questions from the videos and in class activities. All students have been instructed to keep all graded work in the green, Science folder in their binder. If you would like to see your child's scores on these assignments, please ask to see them. Nothing needs to be signed or returned to me.

Limericks

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, my English students created their own limericks. I was very impressed with the final products. I wish I could post them all, but here are a few examples. Sorry it took so long to get them posted. Enjoy!
